We seek to live out our mission "Fed by God; Feeding Others." There are normally many meals with lots of fellowship, including food pantry, summer lunch, The Caring Canteen, and Mom's Group.

Shepherd of the Valley has an Alaska DEC certified commercial kitchen. However, for certain church events, like potlucks and Wednesday soups, volunteers bring the food from other locations to be heated and served at the church. 

We very strongly encourage volunteers to practice effective hand washing and food safety, both at church and at home. This booklet from the USDA is full of good information. Cooking for Groups Food Safety Booklet
