Let the adventure begin!  Shepherd of the Valley offers a special opportunity for middle school youth.  This journey is called confirmation.  We recognize that you are on the verge of adulthood and want to give you a chance to ask some tough questions and claim your faith as your own.  That’s what confirmation is all about.  When you finish middle school, some of you may wish to go through a special rite of passage where you proclaim your faith in front of the congregation and some of you may not.  It’s all about the journey.

We are spending time learning about Luther and the Small Catechism this year.

Here is what to expect this year.  There are three pillars to this journey:

  1. Learning time:  We will meet following church every Sunday, except for mentoring Sundays
  2. Mentoring:  Each of you will have an adult or older teen who will meet with you on the last Sunday of the month to have some fun and ask some questions.
  3. Experience:  We’ll try to make sure we have regular field trips to explore faith in action in daily life.
