This is the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea where the church tried to figure out “our core” and how to get along. Out of the Council came the groundwork for the Nicene Creed, the dogma of the trinity and the canon of the Bible. We begin this celebration with a musical celebration on February 16 at Kuneix Hidi/Northern Light. Learning and celebration opportunities will be available throughout the year.

This first ecumenical council was the first effort to attain consensus in the church through an assembly representing all of Christendom.
