I always smile when I read the list above. It’s posted in a little barbecue restaurant up the street from us where we live in South Carolina. The Bar-B-Cue House is not a fancy or large restaurant, but it has good food—Southern favorites like pork ribs, beef brisket and chicken along with sides of red slaw, okra, green beans, and collards. I always leave satisfied and in good spirits when I eat there.
The cooking crew at The Bar-B-Cue House is fun to watch. Often, they sing, laugh and joke with one another and with their customers. You don’t find this much in today’s workplace. I appreciate their positive energy and spirit. As you look around, there are posters and artwork with positive and upbeat messages on the walls—like the list above. I think it reflects positive qualities of the owner, management, and staff they hire.
During this time of Lent, I will work to be more positive and thankful and share this happiness with others.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, we pray to allow ourselves to be more positive and uplifting to ourselves and to others during this time of Lent and always. Amen
