Sin/Hypocrisy: Luke 12:1, 3(New King James) 1: Beware of the leaven (presence of corruption) of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. 3: Therefore, whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.

Yesterday I wrote a paragraph that did exactly what I was complaining about, grading sin.  “I’m better than_________ because I only did a small sin.”  I was saying I  am better than others because I’m aware that I do that.  Jesus made it clear that sin is sin is sin. So, today I’m writing this:  I have been thinking about sin this year.  I don’t give things up for Lent because I always cheat.  I am sinful. Over the last few years, I’ve tried to focus on either a way to spread joy or be less judgmental during Lent.  This year I’m focusing each day on how sin affects my life and separates me from staying close to God.  Then I try to think of a plan that will help me let go of that sin and be closer to God.  I end my thought time with a prayer of gratefulness that God doesn’t grade sin.  He reaches out to me with grace and invites me into His family every time I sin.  I am the same as someone who has murdered someone.  We both belong to God. Praise Jesus.
