“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Matthew chapter 6, verse 34.
I was looking out the window today, watching the snow fall and gazing towards Douglas Island where I used to live. The snow has crept even lower on the mountains and filled the upper valleys. So many times in past winters I would be headed up to Eaglecrest… taking the kids and dropping them off for a day of snowboarding or skiing, and occasionally joining them too.
Those were happy days! I especially like these photos of Raven, my granddaughter (in white jacket), and her friends having fun on the mountain! They would pose, laugh, slide down the mountain, tumble down at times, and have a blast doing it all. Not a care in the world during that time!
I started thinking about a verse to describe those times and what came to mind was…. “There is a time for sowing, a time for reaping, a time for …. Happiness??” I couldn’t quite remember all the verses or where in the Bible I could find it.. but I thought.. “Matthew?” I opened my Bible to look, and surprise.. Matthew was the chapter that opened first. I looked down and read the verse above. It fit my memories and those photos perfectly! That was my God moment today.
