When I was around 9 or 10 years old, one of my aunts gave me for Christmas a paint by number kit to make wood ornaments. There were 8 in the kit. I punched out the wood shapes, then sanded the edges smooth,  and then painted the front and the backs (and the edges) of each one. I loved doing it! 

My aunts, I think struggled sometimes to figure out what to give me. I got some interesting gifts sometimes, of course I always appreciated them. But this gift was perfect for me.

We hung them on the tree every year. When I left home, I took them with me. And I still hang them on my tree every year.
